I love the powerful nature of words, they can be beautiful when read out loud and also so pleasing to the eyes when written by hand. Every written words has a story behind it, from the scrawling of a to do list on the back of a receipt, the love letter from a distant partner, a map telling you how to get to There, a signature for funds, or a tag on a wall. There are an uncountable number of reasons to make marks but only a few letters to use to write these messages. This piece is written with a metal dip pen and the energy is visually legible in the accents and extra chatter. Cursive script is one of my favorite ways to write words to both convey the story through the sentences as well as bring beauty to the design of the marks themselves.
